2016 THE KING’S CELEBRATION AND PARADE – JUNE 11

On Saturday, June 11 from 9 AM to 2 PM, the Fabulous Floral Parade starts at 9AM from Vidinha Stadium. The Kauai Community will honor the great Ali’i of Hawaii who cared for their people. Over 150 horses will be in the parade. Various locals will portray the King, Queen and princesses. Each princess presides over her own unit representing one of the eight Hawaiian Islands. They will be adorned in the flowers and  colors of the Island they are representing. For Kauai, Naniu’i Ka’ohelauli’i will be in purple and wearing mokihana. For the Big Island, the color is red; Kaho’olawe = blue; Mauai = pink; Lanai = orange; Molokai = green; O’ahu = yellow; Ni’ihau = brown. There is also great entertainment at the Historic County Building. The parade itself is sponsored by the County of Kauai, Malie Foundation and the King Kamehameha Celebration Commission.

Another celebration is for the Kauai Beach Guide app which is not only for iPhone but also now for Android phones.  You can download it FREE from iTunes and Google Play. The app has daily ocean and weather reports; lists which beaches are lifeguarded and which are not good for swimming; names the facilities at each beach; GPS; and much, much more.  You can also check out the sponsors of a number of the beaches: the Grand Hyatt, Kauai ATV, Kauai Down Under, Kayak Kauai, Z Tours Kauai, Tracy’s Map, PiliMai at Poipu, and Makai Properties.Poipu Beach, South Shore

Exciting Developments for Kauai Beach Guide

Beach Toolz, LLC is very excited to announce that the Kauai Beach Guide app is now in development for both Android and iPad. The iPhone app is also being updated to be compatible with the latest iOS, and all three are projected to be released at the end of September, 2015.

In researching what would happen if the iPhone app was free, Beach Toolz discovered that the number of downloads tripled. In line with our mission statement to provide excellent beach information to aid in the safety of Kauai’s visitors, we decided that the app needed to stay free in order to reach as many people as possible in our commitment to saving lives on Kauai’s beautiful beaches.

To finance all the apps, we have created a sponsor banner to go on each Beach Info page with the respective sponsor’s name and link to their website. We are proud to announce that The Grand Hyatt Kauai has been the first sponsor to sign up, and will be sponsoring Poipu Beach Park.

Kauai Beach Guide has garnered a lot of attention here on Kauai, and is now featured on the back of the updated Beach Guide pamphlet just released by the Kauai Lifeguard Association. This pamphlet is available to visitors in almost every hotel and vacation rental unit, and we are honored to have this recognition by the Kauai Lifeguard Association.

Thank you for your continued support,

Beach Toolz, LLC
